Swinford 250 Catch & Release Cup
As you may be aware EMAA has been running an initiative for the last few years, the Swinford 250 C&R cup which is presented to the person (EMAA MEMBERS ONLY) who catches and releases the largest fish caught that season. Anyone who caught and returned a fish of 7lb or greater was also entered into the draw which was held at the end of the season for prizes to the value of €1,000.
The competition has proven to be successful, so in an effort to keep the focus on C&R the committee has decided to change the format of the competition to make it more inclusive and recognise anyone who returns a fish, whether it be a Spring fish or Grilse.
There will be a monthly draw and if you return a fish and you have satisfactory evidence of this, by way of a witness or photo/video, your name will go into the hat towards the monthly prize of €100 euro of tackle vouchers.
So, why not try and get your name in that hat. If you catch and return a fish please get in touch with the office of EMAA at eastmayoangler@gmail.com or Paul Kelly on paulkelly78@gmail.com or Brendan Wilson on brwilsonpfp@gmail.com with details of your success.
This competition is open to EMAA members only.
Tight lines for the rest of the season.

- Photographic evidence essential
- Witness essential
- Some form of Measurement preferable
- Anglers responsibility to report to the offices of East Mayo their evidence and witness detail
- The Committee decision is final
- Competition dates 1st Feb-30th Sep
- Open to Full and Associate members only.
We hope that all club anglers will be encouraged to partake in this initiative at some point during the season and get their name entered into the draw which will take place at the end of the season.
We also understand that many anglers already return fish throughout the year without the need for recognition but would now encourage those anglers also to partake and help increase awareness among other anglers.
